Many people with special needs express an interest in learning an instrument, but do not benefit from a traditional music lesson. At creative Connections we specialize in adapting instructional methods based on the person's strengths and learning styles. We provide in home adapted guitar and ukulele lessons.​

A music therapist may adapt a lesson by:

• color/letter/number coding instead of difficult musical notation

• Alternate tuning for guitar

• using of Chord Buddy for guitar

• Enlarging or simplifying music to minimize distraction

• Use of a picture schedule to structure the session

• opportunities for sensory breaks or to engage in preferred music activities between more difficult tasks.
